Workflow platform built and shipped with embedded QA in a single sprint cycle.
A product team needed a custom internal workflow tool, not a configuration of an existing SaaS. They needed a purpose-built system with its own interface, logic, and integrations. Shellexa owned architecture, build, UI, and validation in the same delivery loop.
Problem
The team was trying to move a critical internal workflow out of spreadsheets and manual handoffs. Existing tools could cover pieces of the process, but none matched the approval paths, permissions, data checks, and operational context the team needed.
They did not need another dashboard wrapped around generic CRUD screens. They needed a workflow-native product that reflected how users actually moved work from intake to review to handoff.
The risk was not only delivery speed. A fast build with a generic interface would have pushed complexity back onto operators and created quality gaps the team would pay for after launch.
What We Did
Shellexa mapped the user paths, decision points, exception cases, integrations, and access rules before implementation. The interface followed the operating model instead of forcing the workflow into a template-first product structure.
The build covered backend logic, integrations, permissions, workflow states, and production handoff material. QA was part of every sprint, so validation shaped the implementation instead of arriving after the UI was complete.
- Designed the workflow-native UI around actual user paths, not component defaults
- Built backend logic, integrations, and permissions with QA framing from day one
- Delivered with full regression coverage, edge case documentation, and handoff context
Outcome
The platform shipped in 3 weeks with no critical issues at launch. The team received the working product, regression coverage, edge case documentation, and operational context needed to own the system after handoff.
There were zero rework requests in the first 60 days of production use. The workflow held up because the product was built around how the team actually worked.
